Road Closure Notice

Attention Residents of Milesburg Borough, we wish to inform you that Railroad Street will be closed from February 10th to May 1st. This project involves the replacement of the existing bridge over Moose Run, which supports both the NBER Mainline and Railroad Street and is expected to take approximately 2.5 months. The new structure will consist of a twin cell precast concrete box culvert along with precast concrete end walls.
Additionally, the project will require the relocation of underground sanitary sewer and water lines.

Work is scheduled to begin on February 10, 2025, coinciding with the closure of Railroad Street. The relocation of utility lines is scheduled from February 17th to March 14th, followed by the shutdown of the railroad track from April 10th to April 14th. Paving activities are planned for April 28th and 29th, with seeding to take place from April 30th to May 1st. This schedule is weather dependent; in the absence of unanticipated delays, Railroad Street will be reopened on May 1st.

We will strive to keep the borough residents updated and acknowledge that the crew will be working around the clock, which may result in elevated noise levels during both day and night. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

To inquire about project details, we encourage you to attend the Milesburg Borough Council meeting on February 10th at 6:30 PM, located at 416 Front Street. Jason Shura Sr., the Project Engineer, along with Steven Beattie, the Executive Director of SEDA-COG Joint Rail Authority, will be present to address any questions you may have.
