Compared to the surrounding Boggs Township, Milesburg Borough has a higher population density. The Borough is governed by seven council members and a mayor, each elected by voters to a four-year term. Council’s structure and operation are legally bound by Title 8 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statues for Boroughs and Incorporated Towns. Council also follows rules for holding open meetings under Title 65, Chapter 7, known as the “Sunshine Act”.

Council Meetings
Milesburg Borough Council meetings are held on the third Monday of each month, unless otherwise indicated on the official calendar published on this website. Regular meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. and are held at the Borough Building, 416 Front Street, Milesburg, PA 16853.
Time is allotted at each meeting for visitor comments. If you wish to address Council regarding a specific matter and would like the item placed on the meeting agenda, please contact the Borough Office at (814) 355‑3583 or milesburgborough@gmail.com.
Rental Permit Applications
Milesburg Borough will no longer accept rental permit renewal applications or payments. All rental applications and associated payments must be submitted directly to Penns Valley Code Enforcement Agency at the following address:

The Borough has jointly, with neighboring municipalities, incorporated two public authorities: the Milesburg Borough Water Authority delivers potable water to residents, and the Mid-Centre County Authority provides wastewater treatment (sewer).
In accordance with the legislation governing municipal authorities, Chapter 56 of Title 53, Borough Council appoints residents to serve on the Boards of each authority. The Board acts as the governing body for the authority.
